Research Question
How can we increase the catch efficiency of pot fisheries in order to facilitate a transition to more sustainable fishery methods?

I will be investigating novel baits for target species of existing pot fisheries as well as researching how to catch commercially important species which are currently not caught by pots. The goal is to develop a toolbox for fishers who want to transition to pot fisheries. With this toolbox, they should be able to fish year-round on a variety of species in an economic and environmentally sustainable way.
